The scent

What we left out

We took a lot out, on purpose. The hair aisle is a contest to add: a peptide complex with a trademark, a number after the word system, a scent with a name and no ingredients behind it. We built these the other way. We took things out, and the bar got better every time. Synthetic fragrance is gone, replaced by rosemary and mint essential oils. Trademarked complexes are gone, replaced by named plants that do the same work: willow bark and charcoal. No sulfates. No parabens. What is left is a short list of ingredients that work.

How to use

Wet your hair and the bar. Swipe the bar onto wet hair two to three times, or lather it between your hands. Massage into the scalp and through the lengths, then rinse. Follow with Balance & Shine Conditioner. Let the bar dry between uses. Avoid contact with eyes. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

No bottle, by design

We left the water out. Your shower has plenty of it. What is left fits in your hand: a concentrated bar in a recyclable paper box, with no plastic bottle and no pump. One bar replaces about one bottle, at about a fifth of the shipping weight. We'd rather say that than make something up. What we can promise you is that you and your hair won't miss the bottle, and neither will the landfill. How long the bar lasts depends on the length of your hair and how often you wash it. You do you. You're good. Humble on.
